All work is carried out by qualified electricians in accordance with:
- BS 7671 (18th Edition) Wiring Regulations
- Building Regulations Part P
- NICEIC standards and guidelines
- All applicable UK laws and regulations
4. Quotes and Pricing
4.1 Quotes
- All quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated
- Quotes are based on information provided by the client
- We reserve the right to adjust quotes if additional work is discovered
- Emergency callout fees may apply for urgent work
4.2 Pricing
- All prices are in GBP and include VAT unless stated otherwise
- Prices may vary based on materials, complexity, and time required
- We maintain the same rates for evenings and weekends
- Additional costs for materials will be communicated before purchase
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Payment Methods
We accept payment by:
- Cash
- Bank transfer
- Credit/debit card
- Cheque (by arrangement)
5.2 Payment Schedule
- Small jobs (under £500): Payment due upon completion
- Medium jobs (£500-£2,000): 50% deposit, balance on completion
- Large jobs (over £2,000): Payment schedule agreed in advance
- Emergency callouts: Payment due upon completion
5.3 Late Payment
Late payment may incur interest charges at a rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, as permitted by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
6. Cancellations and Rescheduling
6.1 Client Cancellations
- More than 48 hours notice: No charge
- 24-48 hours notice: 50% of quoted price
- Less than 24 hours notice: Full quoted price
6.2 Our Cancellations
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to:
- Emergency situations
- Adverse weather conditions
- Staff illness or unavailability
- Circumstances beyond our control
We will provide as much notice as possible and reschedule at your convenience.
7. Access and Site Conditions
7.1 Client Responsibilities
You must:
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the work area
- Ensure the work area is clear and accessible
- Inform us of any known hazards or special conditions
- Provide access to electricity and water if required
- Secure pets during our visit
- Ensure someone over 18 is present during the work
7.2 Delays
We are not liable for delays caused by:
- Inadequate access or site conditions
- Failure to provide necessary information
- Third-party delays (e.g., parts suppliers)
- Unforeseen circumstances
8. Warranties and Guarantees
8.1 Workmanship Guarantee
We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion, subject to:
- Normal use and conditions
- Proper maintenance
- No unauthorized modifications
- Compliance with our usage instructions
8.2 Materials and Parts
Materials and parts supplied by us are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We will assist with warranty claims where applicable.
8.3 Exclusions
Our guarantee does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by misuse or neglect
- Work performed by others
- Acts of God or force majeure
- Consumable items (e.g., light bulbs, fuses)
9. Liability and Insurance
9.1 Our Liability
We maintain appropriate insurance including:
- Public liability insurance (£5 million)
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Employer's liability insurance
9.2 Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to:
- The value of the contract for the specific work
- Direct damages only (not consequential losses)
- Claims made within 12 months of completion
We are not liable for:
- Loss of profits or business
- Loss of data
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Damage to property not directly related to our work
10. Health and Safety
10.1 Our Obligations
We will:
- Conduct risk assessments before work commences
- Use appropriate safety equipment
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Minimize disruption and maintain a clean work area
- Dispose of waste responsibly
10.2 Client Obligations
You must:
- Inform us of any known hazards
- Not interfere with our safety procedures
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- Follow any safety instructions we provide
11. Electrical Safety
For your safety:
- Do not use electrical installations until we confirm they are safe
- Follow all instructions provided
- Report any concerns immediately
- Do not attempt DIY electrical work on our installations
- Maintain regular testing as recommended
12. Complaints Procedure
12.1 How to Complain
If you're unhappy with our service:
- Contact us immediately by phone or email
- Provide details of your complaint
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days
- We aim to resolve complaints within 14 days
12.2 Dispute Resolution
If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may:
- Contact NICEIC for independent resolution
- Use alternative dispute resolution services
- Seek legal advice
13. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy. By engaging our services, you consent to this processing.
14. Intellectual Property
All designs, plans, and documentation remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.
15. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters
- War or terrorism
- Government restrictions
- Strikes or labor disputes
- Pandemics or epidemics
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
17. Changes to Terms
